A prominent traditional priest and seer, HRM Augustine Bola Adegunloye, popularly known as Egbeji Ologun, has issued a strong warning to All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, against contesting for the presidency in 2023.
The cleric claimed that Tinubu risks suffering the same fate as the late Chief MKO Abiola if he ignores spiritual counsel and proceeds with his presidential ambition.
In a now-viral video, Adegunloye recounted how he personally warned Abiola in 1993 not to run for president, a advice the late politician reportedly dismissed. He said Abiola mockingly gave him N25,000, calling him a hungry babalawo, before proceeding with his campaign.
“I went to Abiola’s office personally that morning. I told him: ‘Baba, God has done great things for you. You have money, you have everything. Why do you want to become Head of State?’ He gave me N25,000 and said when babalawos are hungry, that’s how they behave,” Adegunloye narrated.
He continued: “How did he end? He did not end well. He died. So that’s what is going to happen to Tinubu now. If Tinubu doesn’t take care, he will die like a goat.”
The traditional priest further alleged that many people surrounding Tinubu are only interested in his money, and urged him to reconsider his ambition to avoid ending up in prison or dying prematurely.
Adegunloye described Tinubu as “Jagaban of Hausaland” and warned that those he is supporting (described as herders) may not stand with him when trouble comes.
This spiritual warning comes amid growing speculation at the time about Tinubu’s interest in succeeding former President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2023 presidential election.
